It is a bit complicated to explain, unfortunately, [ Which is code to mean he doesn't want to ] but the simplest way to think of it is that the shadow is an extension of me. It is a bit closer to my real face than this one, but I do much prefer this one when I am amongst humans.
[ indeed, that explains very little, but then again, if Sebastian tried to explain it in detil, he doubts he'd understand it, anyway. All he does is stare at it a bit longer before nodding uncomfortably. Demon magic aside, it had protected them from the prying eyes and ears of Yao, so he should probably be thankful for it instead of questioning it. And, demonic nature aside, all Sebastian had done so far, in his eyes, was help out. Maybe he shouldn't be so nervous. After all, he'd learned by now that monstrous folk weren't always quite as monstrous as people liked to make them out. ]

None taken, I assure you. That is partially why I keep it to myself. It is not out of intent to deceive so much as revealing it tends to make things more difficult for me. I understand if it takes some time to rebuild that trust.
[ After a pause, he adds with a soft laugh, ] For what it is worth, I will do all in my power to look out for you, now that you have accepted. You are a member of this team, after all, and despite what I am, I do look out for my allies. I am not a creature interested in chaos. I wish to return home, just as anyone else.
[ Spooky as he might be to a faint-hearted man like Garry, Sebastian has a point he can't deny. He doubts a well-dressed, classy demon like him enjoys being stuck here, either - to say nothing of their little field trips courtesy of Kite. So after a moment, he makes a noise of understanding. ]
... Yeah, I guess you're right. It doesn't matter what we are here... We're all in the same boat.

[ Sebastian nods, and by the look on his face, he seems relieved that Garry agrees. Though of course, he really cares little beyond Garry simply cooperating with him. That said... Having Garry on his side had its uses as well, which is why he's making the extra effort here. ]
So I would like to think, at the very least. So, ah, it may sound a bit strange coming from a creature like me... But I hope that at the very least, we may work well together.
